Criminal case: Murder of Gerard Meesters - Information for press and interested parties

From Tuesday, November 12 to Friday, November 15, the trial against a 52-year old man with British nationality will take place. He is suspected of orchestrating the murder of Gerard Meesters. The hearings will be held at the Judicial Complex Schiphol (JCS), where the high-security court is located. Sessions begin at 10:00. Journalists and interested parties who wish to attend the hearing can register until November 6 with the press office of the Court of Northern Netherlands.

Journalist registration

Journalists in possession of an NVJ press card, Police press card, membership of the Foreign Press Association, or an International Federation of Journalists press card can register. To register, please provide the following information:

• First and last name

• Media outlet you are publishing for

• Copy of your press card

• The days you wish to attend

Registration for interested parties

Interested parties can follow the hearing from the public gallery. To register, please provide the following information:

• Name (as stated on your ID or identification document)

• Initial(s) and first name (as stated on your ID or identification document)

• Date of birth

• Email address

• The days you wish to attend

Audio and video recordings

Interested parties are not allowed to make audio or video recordings at the JCS. Journalists can submit a request to the press office to obtain or make recordings.

Arriving on time

Due to security checks, it may take extra time to gain access to the JCS. There may also be traffic restrictions in place. We advise you to arrive at least 30 minutes before the session starts.
